Board elections are held annually at the end of Spring Quarter.

PADEN MCNIFF (SHE/HER/HERS)
Co President
Paden McNiff is a fourth year Psychology student. Originally from North Carolina, her family now resides in Marin, CA, but she fondly remembers her Southern roots. She is a member of the DNC’s Organizing Corps program, in which she received training for campaign and grassroots organization, in addition to having experience interning on campaigns in San Luis Obispo & at Cal Poly’s Gender Equity Center. Paden is deeply passionate about gender equity, expanding healthcare and access to strong mental health resources, and ending mass incarceration. She enjoys being a member of Cal Poly Democrats because she loves hearing about the opinions and experiences of others and joining together with students from all backgrounds to fight for justice

LIZZY MARSHALL (SHE/HER/HERS)
Co President
Lizzy Marshall is a 3rd year Political Science major with a minor in Law & Society from San Diego, CA. Lizzy has worked for the San Diego County Democratic Party and the office of Congressman Salud Cabrjal, along with interning on numerous campaigns throughout San Luis Obispo County. She loves the upbeat pace of political work, and how she gets to build relationships with a common goal to incite positive change and promote civic engagement. Voting rights, reproductive justice, and child/youth advocacy are her particular areas of interest. Dems club is important to her because it has provided her with invaluable connections, opportunities, and a gathering space to hear from fellow students.

EIREANN O'GRADY
Vice President
Eireann O’Grady is a third year Political Science student with minors in Women & Gender Studies and City Planning. She is on the pre-law track and intends to start law school in the Fall. She has worked for several campaigns both in San Luis Obispo and in Los Angeles, where she is from. Eireann loves campaigns and politics because it is so exciting and makes her feel connected to her community. She intends on always being involved in the political process, but is particularly passionate about gender equality, political transparency, and climate change. Dems club is so awesome for her because it enables her to spend time with students at Cal Poly that have similar values and makes it easier to be involved in the community.

IAN LEVY
Treasurer
Ian Levy is a 3rd year Political Science major, Economics and Psychology double minor. He is proudly from San Diego where he was best friends with his Boston Terrier, Pepper. In 2017 Ian worked as a Field Operations Campaign manager for a City Council candidate who would become the first black woman elected to San Luis Obispo City Council. He also interned for Congressman Salud Carbajal throughout his time at Cal Poly. Young Democrats is important to Ian because he persistently needs reassurance that politics won't leave the world in perennial ruin.

EMMA SULLIVAN (SHE/HER/HERS)

Emma Sullivan is a 4th year Political Science student with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. Originally from Danville, CA, she has had a blast over the past several years diving into political activism and campaigns here in SLO County, interning for her home district’s California State Senator, and spending this past summer on Capitol Hill working as an intern for Senator Dianne Feinstein. Politics permeate every area of individuals’ lives, which is why Emma cares so deeply about all social justice issues, reforming broken and oppressive systems, and expanding freedom, opportunity, and agency to all. Through Dems Club, she has loved exploring the power of grassroots organizing, collaborating with a strong community of incredible, like-minded peers, and expanding progressive values on campus and in the community.

MADDY GALLAGHER (SHE/HER/HERS)

Maddy Gallagher is currently a second year at Cal Poly, majoring in Liberal Studies. She is concentrating in TESL in order to teach English as a second langauge, and minoring in Child Development. Maddy is from Orange County, and joined this club because she LOVESa good debate or discussion with people who hold same and different views than her. She is so excited to see new members that will bring more opinions and ideas to our club! <3
Favorite 2018 Candidate: California Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond.

LAUREN PEACHEY (SHE/HER/HERS)
Club Ambassador
Lauren is an Environmental Management and Protection major with Political Science and Plant Protection minors. She is from Santa Cruz, California. Lauren joined Dems Club because of her passion for social justice issues and the need to get involved in organizations that promote environmental sustainability, reproductive rights and national inclusion. Last summer, she worked for the non-profit California Green Business Network which provides free environmental expertise and resources to small businesses in order to promote sustainability.

AMANDA KENNEDY (SHE/HER/THEY/THEM)
Campus Ambassador
Amanda Kennedy is a Political Science Major with two minors in Ethics, Public Policy, Science & Technology and Gender, Race, Culture, Science & Technology. She is from Escondido, CA. She has volunteered and interned for several campaigns in San Luis Obispo County, including Congressman Salud Carbajal’s re-election campaign, and worked closely with the Coalition to Protect SLO County in the fight to pass Ballot Measure G in the 2018 midterm elections. She is continuously inspired by her peers and mentors to be a part of progress, politically and socially.
Favorite 2018 Candidate: Elizabeth Warren's Exploratory Committee for President due to her incredible qualifications and unabashed confrontations with the industries, government systems, and other politicians that hold the country back.

ROB MOORE
Community Ambassador
Rob Moore is a 3rd year Political Science major with two minors in Ethics, Public Policy, Science, and Technology and Philosophy. Rob was elected to serve as the 2019-2020 Chair of the ASI Board of Directors for Student Government and will serve as one of the three corporate officers of ASI. He was also elected to serve as a delegate for the California Democratic Party and is on the board of the Cal Poly Democrats. Additionally, he served as the Student Director on the Cal Poly Foundation Board. Rob is very involved politically, both in San Luis Obispo and the Bay Area. He plans to run for office in his hometown of Los Gatos upon graduation and pursue a career in public service.

CHLOE COMSTOCK (SHE/HER/HERS)
Community Ambassador
Chloe Comstock is a 2nd-year Political Science student with a minor in Law and Society from Pleasanton, CA. Her love for progressive issues started young. At just eight years old she was canvassing and waving signs of hope and change for Obama. Last summer she interned for Evan Branning who ran for State Senate. She is also an active member of the Tri-Valley Women’s March Action Group. Chloe’s dream is to either be a political campaign manager or work for the innocence project. Chloe believes that Dems club is the perfect environment to mobilize the next generation of voters to fight for an America that works for all of us.
